  • Vegetable-tanned belting leather is a durable and high-quality leather that can last for years if cared for properly. Here are some care instructions to keep your vegetable-tanned belting leather in good condition:

    • Avoid getting the leather wet. Water can cause the leather to shrink, become stiff, or crack. If your leather does get wet, dry it out as soon as possible and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or heat.

    • Clean your leather regularly. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away any dirt or dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners that can damage the leather.

    • Condition the leather. Use a leather conditioner specifically designed for vegetable-tanned leather. Apply a small amount to a clean, dry cloth and rub it into the leather in a circular motion. Allow the leather to absorb the conditioner and wipe away any excess with a clean cloth.

    • Store your leather properly. When not in use, store your leather in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat. Avoid stacking or compressing the leather, as this can cause creases or deformations.

    • Handle the leather with care. Avoid scratching or scuffing the leather and handle it gently to prevent damage.

    • Periodically treat with mink oil. Apply mink oil to the leather using a clean, dry cloth. Rub it into the leather in a circular motion and allow it to absorb for a few hours before wiping off any excess with a clean cloth. This will help to maintain the leather's suppleness and water resistance.

By following these care instructions, you can help to ensure that your vegetable-tanned belting leather stays looking great for years to come.
